Crobi's Hobbies

One of the hobbies I enjoy most in life is playing guitar. I have three guitars and enjoy learning new songs with friends. I learn new chords and songs to be able to play on guitar for people I know. I also collect different types of guitars because they have different moods to their sounds.

Why I love guitar

I picked up guitar when I was around 13. My dad bought an Epiphone Dreadnaught Dr-100 and brought it home. Its color was sunburst and we both loved it. He did a lot of the work on the guitar like sanding down the bridge and tightening the neck to get the strings closer to the fret board. Up to this point I only played little tunes here and there but more loved the guitar than learning how to play it.

Around my late Junior year of highshool I hit a rough patch with my family and friends and became very sad for a long time. I eventually started playing guitar as a way to forget about stuff as I went on walks and found scenic places to play. I would hike up mountains in our local area, or sit on a brige, or go down the river to play the guitar and sing to my hearts content where no one could hear me. After leaving to college my dad officially gave me that guitar and it kind of became a piece of me.

Unfortunately into my first term of college when loading up my car to go back home for a weekend I forgot my guitar leaning on the side of my car and I ran it over. It was one of the saddest days for me since I came to college. When I got home I showed my dad expecting dissapointment but instead was met with laughter. He said "how in the world did you manage that". He encouraged me to look for a new guitar and so I did where I found my new epiphone. (guitar on the right) I took the old bridge my dad sanded down, the old strings, the old pegs, and the old tuning nobs and put them all on this new guitar so a piece of the old one stayed. Since then I have played almost everyday and truly love to play the guitar and so I consider it one of my main hobbies.
